| If you believe it or not. This young boy (Jake Lloyd) is the character it is all about. George Lucas tells us in the first three parts of the Star Wars Saga how Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader, a warrior of the dark side of the Force. So it is clear, that the original Star Wars Trilogy deals only with the question: "How can we convert the Black Lord?" |
| But what happens with this child in the first episode? This is the question of all questions! |
| When we see this young, cute, little boy for the first time he is a slave of the junk dealer Watto on the remote desert-planet Tatooine. Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi Wan Kenobi, Princess Amidala and Jar Jar Binks meet him on the flight from the armies of the dark side of the Force. And they are forced to land on Tatooine because of their damaged spacecraft. |
| Qui-Gon Jinn notices that the Force is strong in the young boy. So he wants to take him with to Coruscant in order to introduce him to the council of the jedi-knights. But the unscrupulous Watto releases Anakin only in the case, that he wins a brutal race with jet-propelled racers against the champion of the galaxy, who hasn’t lost one race in his life. |
| And there is an other problem, that the Jedis have to face. Darth Maul, the last of the Sith, is arrived at Tatooine in order to kill the representatives of the republican council. |
