| The first time we saw this Jedi he was introduced as Ben Kenobi. At least Luke Skywalker called him this way in the first Star Wars Episode of the year 1977. The rest of the story of part four of the saga is ledgendary. Obi Wan proofs the fact that he is a hero until his death. The final confrontation with his former pupil Anakin Skywalker, who became a strong warrior for the dark side of the Force named Darth Vader, allows the escape of Luke Skywalker and his friends from the Death Star. As the old Jedi notices, that the rebels will be secure, he vanishes. Why? Actually I don't know.
